Corinth, TX - Georgina (Gina) Hicks Royalty, 88, of Corinth, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday June 23rd, 2025, at Discovery Village in Southlake, Texas.
A 40-yr resident of San Juan Capistrano, Gina worked 30+ years in California's greenhouse/nursery industry as a horticulturalist and as a certified pest- and disease-management professional.
Gina was born in Carterville, IL, the daughter of Paul L. and Georgina Lockie Hicks. She grew up in Muncie IN, where she attended Burris High School and met her future husband Reed L. Royalty. She attended Vassar College, graduating with honors with a BS degree in Zoology. She and Reed moved to California in 1962, and she moved to Corinth, TX, in 2021, after the passing of her husband.
Gina is survived by her son Nathan and his wife Susan of Kirkwood, MO, her son Daniel and his wife Annette of Corinth, TX, and her son Douglas and his wife Karen of Raleigh, NC. She also is survived by ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in San Diego, CA.
